Top Ten Tuesday: Ten Books on My Holiday Wishlist

Top Ten Tuesday is an original blog meme created by The Broke and the Bookish and is currently being hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week’s topic is “Books I Hope Santa Brings This Year.” I hope your December is going well, friends. I’ve had a rough end of the year and am still dealing with a family illness which is why I haven’t really been around despite coming back from my hiatus. I’m hoping the new year brings better things my family’s way. This holiday season will probably be really quiet for us. A lot of our usual traditions were put on hold and I barely got my Christmas shopping done. I’m really just looking forward to spending time with the fam and hoping for some rest. If you are so inclined, here is a link to my full wishlist on Amazon. Covers linked to Goodreads.

1. Kamila Knows Best by Farah Heron – I recently read this charming Emma retelling and now am hoping to see more Austen retellings from this author.

2. Just Your Local Bisexual Disaster by Andrea Mosqueda – I missed out on a few 2022 debuts by Latine authors this year and so have a running list of ones I simply must get to.

3. Valentina Salazar Is Not a Monster Hunter by Zoraida Córdova – I don’t think I’ve seen a single review of Córdova’s latest middle grade novel and this feels like such a shame. I really like the concept of this one.

4. Omega Morales and Legend of La Lechuza by Laekan Zea Kemp – Another Latine middle grade novel I missed out on this year!

5. Man Made Monsters by Andrea L. Rogers – I am so very curious about this short story horror collection by this debut author. I’ve heard it’s amazing!

6. This Is Why They Hate Us by Aaron H. Aceves – Another debut that I am itching to get to. I have actually checked out the audiobook of this one from the library, but wasn’t able to get to it in time before I had to return it.

7. Love from Mecca to Medina by S.K. Ali – I did listen to the audiobook of this one this past week. I need it so I can own both of Zayneb and Adam’s books.

8. Night of the Raven, Dawn of the Dove by Rati Mehrotra – Even though I haven’t read enough fantasy novels this year, there are plenty that have piqued my interest.

9. A Seed in the Sun by Aida Salazar – I really need to read this one as Salazar is one of my all-time favorite middle grade authors and she never ceases to impress me with how moving and relevant her books are.

10. Hell Followed with Us by Andrew Joseph White – I was recommended this one way back in October and I haven’t been able to forget about it since.

Have you read any of these? Let me know if there are any books on my list I must get my hands on now and be sure to leave me a link to your own TTT post, so I can visit! Hope you and your loved ones have a wonderful holiday season!
