Top Ten Tuesday is an original blog meme created by The Broke and the Bookish and is currently being hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week’s topic is “Authors Who Have a Fun Social Media Presence.” I did a bit of a twist on this week’s topic and am listing ten authors whose social media I have followed for years but whose books I haven’t read yet. Honestly, this list is about a mile long so I am sticking to the ones that make me feel the most guilty. Maybe I have followed them for a long time or perhaps I’ve had their book on my shelf for years. Either way, I ought to get to their books soon. Covers are linked to Goodreads.
1. Aisha Saeed – I have Written in the Stars on my shelf and Amal Unbound on my TBR. One day I will even read them.
2. Adi Alsaid – All his books are on my TBR including Never Always Sometimes which is also on my shelf. May this be the year I finally pick him up.
3. Paul Kreuger – I own both Last Call at the Nightshade Lounge and Steel Crow Heart and have read neither. I do plan to read the latter this year though.
4. Brandy Colbert – I’ve been meaning to get to Little & Lion for years and finally got my hands on it last year, but still haven’t read it.
5. Jason Reynolds – Can you be a fan of somebody without reading them? I still feel like a Jason Reynolds fan even though I haven’t picked up any of his books.
6. David Bowles – I have learned so much from following David on Twitter and this year I finally plan to pick up some of his books. I hope.
7. Mark Oshiro – Anger Is a Gift is a book I’ve put off because of how emotionally-heavy it is going to be, but I need to pick it up because Mark has another book coming out soon.
8. L.L. McKinney – I have had every intention of picking up A Blade So Black but just haven’t gotten around to it. I have this one checked out from the library, so hoping I can cross this off soon.
9. Sona Charaipotra – I have an ARC of Symptoms of a Heart Break but never got a chance to read it before the publication date. But I fully intend to soon.
10. Natasha Ngan – I’ve had her first book on my shelf since its release, but in my defense I know you have to be emotionally prepared for some of the subject matter and I just haven’t been in the right mindset for it.
Who do you follow on Twitter or other social media platforms and haven’t read yet? Let me know in the comments and be sure to leave me a link to your own TTT post, so I can visit.
Jason Reynolds is wonderful. I highly recommend Long Way Down.

There’s a few authors I follow that I haven’t read yet, but I’ve gotten to most of them. I know I followed VE Schwab, Paper Fury, and Laura E. Weymouth for quite a while before I read any of their books… and I bought their books mostly because I liked them on Twitter!

Yes, I love that you can become a fan of an author before you even read their books thanks to social media.

Great list! A Blade So Black and Girls of Paper and Fire have both been on my TBR for ages, too. I feel you on GoPaF – I keep putting it off because I know it’s going to be a difficult read.

Great twist on the topic. I figured I would struggle with this so I capped myself off at 5!

Nice list! I haven’t seen any of these authors on social media yet, so I need to explore their accounts. They sound fun!

I hope you like Girls of Paper and Fire when you get to it! It’s definitely the kind of book one needs to be in the right mindset for, yeah. And I can’t believe I haven’t read anything by Jason Reynold yet either, I really should.

I want to make Girls a priority, so hopefully I can get to it soon.

I like your twist on this topic! I tried to read Never Always Sometimes, but it was too hard to get into and I ended up not finishing it. Little & Lion was good, but sadly I didn’t love it as much as I hoped I would. Same with Long Way Down. I’ve liked some of Jason Reynolds other books better. I hope you get a chance to read books from all these authors soon!

I might try Never first, but he also has another one I am really curious about whose titles eludes me right now. Thanks!

How interesting that you follow authors you haven’t read! I guess you can be a fan of the person without really knowing their work, can’t you? Makes sense.
Happy TTT!

Yes, some of these authors I highly respect but I was introduced to them first on social media rather than their books.

I hope we both get a chance to read it this year because I’ve heard so many good things.

Oooh, that is a fun way to narrow down all the authors I follow! Love doing this your way! Fun fact, L.L. McKinney was a student at the high school where I am a librarian. Of course that was years before I started here.

Jason Reynolds is fantastic. The production of Long Way Down was brilliant on audiobook. I need to read Paul Kreuger soon – those have been on my tbr for way too long.

I’ve had Natasha Ngan’s Girls of Paper and Fire on my shelf for a long while now! I do want to get to it soon though. I’d love to do a buddy read with you if you’d like! I don’t have a copy of Anger is a Gift but that’s one book I want to read as well!
