Monthly Wrap-Up: December ’19

I had high hopes at the beginning of the month that I was going to get through so many books, including some early 2020 ARCs, but I ran into a roadblock and it took me a while to get back on track. In the end I only read five books but three of those were ARCs, so that’s something. I got some really amazing books for Christmas which I can’t wait to share in my book haul post. I also got some amazing book mail from a publisher that I am really excited about. Will be posting about it on IG and Twitter soon. Everyone has been doing decade lists, but I’m over here just tired and ready to turn the page, so don’t expect any of those from me. I did do a statistic-based post which should be coming your way very soon. In January, I am concentrating on taking care of a couple more ARCs and finally getting to some much anticipated reads I have put off.

(Book covers below are linked to my reviews, unless otherwise specified.)

Favorite Book This Month:

My favorite read this month was Dark and Deepest Red. I always worry that my reviews can never do Anna-Marie McLemore books justice and in the end, I am just hoping to spark enough interest in all of you so you can check out their novels. Each one is a masterpiece in itself. Review for this one coming in the next week or so. Cover linked to Goodreads.

Least Favorite Book This Month:

No book received less than 3 stars.

  1. I am with you on the having such big plans for the month, especially with arcs, but it looks like you had a good month even so, especially with no book being below 3 stars! I’ve heard so many good things about Dark and Deepest Red, I really hope I can get hold of a copy.

  2. Congrats on your December, friend ❤ I finished my huge tome of Children of Ruin yesterday (I couldn't get it finished quite for the end of December) but it was a good way to close the reading year. It's the only book I managed to read though haha

  3. I’m looking forward to reading Tweet Cute. Sorry you didn’t get more books read in December; I didn’t read as much as I had hoped to either. My last book of the year was The Bane Chronicles and I’m finishing Tales from the Shadowhunter Academy now. Have a great 2020!

  4. I love the book cover of Dark and Deepest Red! I looked it up on Goodreads and it sounds so good. Definitely need to add it to my TBR. I’ve been wanting to read Tweet Cute and Analee in Real Life. I can’t wait for Infinity Son. I hope you have an amazing January! I have a few ARCs that I really need to read this month, so hopefully after my current read I can dive into them.

  5. I read Tweet Cute as an ARC in December and it’s one of my top books ever. In January so many exciting books are already out and I’m hoping to read Spellhacker which came out this week.
