Top Ten Tuesday: 2019 Releases I Bought and Still Haven’t Read

Top Ten Tuesday is an original blog meme created by The Broke and the Bookish.ย and is currently being hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week’s topic is “Freebie.” I thought I’d use this opportunity to call myself out by listing 2019 releases I bought but still haven’t read. When I first came up with this topic, I thought it would be endless but it turns out I’ve been really good about reading a lot of the books I bought this year. Yay me! Most of these are books that were released during the first half of the year because I don’t yet feel guilty about books I bought in October that I haven’t gotten to. Covers are linked to Goodreads.

1. Internment by Samira Ahmed

2. The Kingdom of Copper by S.A. Chakraborty

3. The True Queen by Zen Cho

4. On the Come Up by Angie Thomas

5. Courting Darkness by Robin LaFevers

6. Descendant of the Crane by Joan He

7. Somewhere Only We Know by Maurene Goo

8. Chilling Effect by Valerie Valdes

Which 2019 releases have you bought and not read yet? Let me know in the comments and be sure to leave me a link to your own TTT post, so I can visit.

  1. Good for you! That must feel really good not to have a billion books to read (from the year). I know I do, and it’s a problem. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Still haven’t read “Somewhere only We Know,” which I’m sure is adorable.

  2. Great list! You’re not alone, there are so many 2019 releases I still haven’t read. The one I’d really like to conquer before the end of the year is The Priory of the Orange Tree. I want to read Courting Darkness, too, but I still haven’t read Mortal Heart so that’s something I need to do this winter, and I still haven’t read Descendant of the Crane or Internment either. I finally read The City of Brass over the summer and I really want to read The Kingdom of Copper, but the kindle edition is still so expensive and my library doesn’t have it – it’s so frustrating!

  3. Oh boy, I really do need to do this same topic… and I’m also not sure I’m up to the embarrassment I’ll feel if I start listing all of my 2019 purchases and how little progress I’ve made!

  4. Ha, I love how you’re calling yourself out! I wouldn’t feel too bad, I think this is a problem a lot of bookworms have (I have an entire shelf of books I’ve bought and haven’t read yet!).

I'd love to hear from you. Share your thoughts here!
