Top Ten Tuesday: Favorite Bookmarks

Top Ten Tuesday is an original blog meme created by The Broke and the Bookish. and is currently being hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week’s topic is “Favorite Bookmarks.” I used to be one of those people who used whatever was lying around as a bookmark, but am more into actual bookmarks these days. That being said, I don’t spend a lot of money on bookmarks, but prefer to make my own. So here are only a few of my favorite kinds of bookmarks.
Bookmarks
1. DIY Bookmarks – Did you know that I can sometimes be crafty? After gathering a few ideas here and there, I’ve put together these bookmarks. I even had a small giveaway for ones I made a couple of years ago (I don’t know, time means nothing to me right now). I have a purple bookmark I made that I always use, but it kind of fell apart recently, so I’ve had to reach for another in my own collection.

2. Book Depository Bookmarks – I haven’t purchase a book from Book Depository in a while so I don’t know what their bookmarks look like these days, but I have in the past adored some of their bookmarks that come with their books. I like to tuck them away in the book purchased and then forget about them and scramble to find them when a topic like this comes up (*sarcasm*).

3. Character Bookmarks – I’ve always adored character bookmarks, but have never purchased any for myself. I can’t remember who gave these to me (I’m pretty sure it was a fellow blogger. I’m so sorry, my memory is terrible!), but I think they are so cute.

Have you ever made your own bookmarks before? Should I host another bookmark giveaway? Be sure to leave me a link to your own TTT post, so I can visit.

  1. I tried making bookmarks once but I am no star at it haha. Luckily I have a blogging friend who often sends me a homemade bookmark for my birthday and/or christmas ❤
I like bookmarks with books (specific ones or just general) or dragons or cats or something of the sort 😀

  2. Your DIY ones are awesome. I would love to make some for me and my pals someday. I have the end tassels and even a laminating machine so I don’t know what I’m waiting for. I struggled to get decent pictures this week. Probably because I waited to the last minute and it gets dark a half hour after I get home now.

  3. I have one of your handmade booksmarks and it is adorable! I just got my first delivery from Book Depository and was pleasantly surprised to find bookmarks in each of the books. Very cute idea!

  4. Great post!

For the longest time, I would tend to just bend the top of the page and use that as a bookmark when reading something. These days though, I use an actual bookmark when reading a book. That’s a really great idea about making your own bookmarks! I’ll have to try that sometime.

  5. Those DIY bookmarks are so pretty! Are those quotes from books that you’ve added on or is it the patterned paper underneath? Either way WOW. Those Wizard of Oz bookmarks are stinkin’ cute too. I haven’t tried making my own bookmarks but I have seen these page corner ones that look fun to make, almost looks like origami.

  6. I love your bookmarks! You’re so creative in doing that.

I am still reaching for what is near as a book mark even though I have tons. My kids are constantly making me new ones. They make the ones where you color it in. It’s very cute.

Definitely do a giveaway on your bookmarks! 🙂

  7. Those DIY bookmarks are freaking adorable! I want a mini bookmark collection, but I am so picky about what I buy, and what I would want my bookmarks to look like. Thanks for sharing the cuteness with us!
