Happy October! Hope everyone is having a creeptastic month so far. As you’ve might have noticed the blog has undergone a Halloween-esque makeover. I’m a big fan of the holiday and this month I’m putting together some horror-inspired posts while also picking up some thrilling reads. Today I’ve got a list of creepy shows that I am planning to binge-watch this October and fall season.
1. Goosebumps (Netflix) – This show was a staple of my childhood. I recently discovered Netflix carries these episodes and I have been in nostalgia heaven. It makes me want to cast my October TBR aside and just binge-read Goosebumps books instead. Perhaps one day. I also loved Are You Afraid of the Dark? Let me know if you know where I can find episodes of this show!
2. Slasher (Netflix/Chiller) – I heard a couple of bloggers talk about this show and I’m curious enough that I want to check it out on Netflix sometime this month. I don’t know much beyond what I assume from the title and that it’s an anthology series. As it were, I had a hard time finding a gif for this one without knowing much. I think this is from Slasher.
3. The Haunting of Hill House (Netflix) – I am so stoked for this one. It comes out October 12th and at first I thought it was just going to be a movie, but it’s a series and I’m even more excited. What’s Halloween without a haunted house story? Watch the trailer above if you haven’t done so yet!
4. Chilling Adventures of Sabrina (Netflix) – I read the graphic novel this is based on last year and loved it. I’ve always been a fan of Sabrina the Teenage Witch and when I saw there was a darker take on the story, I had to read it. Now that they’ve made a series for it, I am over the moon. Check out how dark and sinister this one looks in the trailer.
5. Channel Zero: The Dream Door (Syfy) – Technically I won’t be binge-watching this one since it will air weekly, but I still wanted to include it. I’ve enjoyed every season of this weird and creepy show. Listen, if I found a door in the basement of the house I grew up in but had no memory of it, I’d be out of that house so fast. But I don’t mind watching others make the terrible mistake of opening the door. The trailer for this one gives me the creeps and has me wishing October 26th would hurry up already.
Are you planning to watch any of these? Which horror shows are you hoping to catch this October and beyond? Let’s talk in the comments!
Great list, I can’t wait for Chilling Adventures of Sabrina to come out 🙂

We loved Are You Afraid of the Dark as kids! My brother got scared watching it, so our mom banned it, but we still watched. Now I want to go watch some Goosebumps!

My brother didn’t like scary stuff either which made it all the more fun! You should!

I love Channel Zero and I’m really looking forward to The Dream Door. I think my favorite season so far has been No End House.
Goosebumps is on Netflix? I might have to go watch a few episodes!

I loved Are You Afraid of the Dark? I remember watching it all the time as a kid. The one that always freaked me out… the medieval one with the torture chamber. Do you know which one I’m talking about? I wish Netflix would get those, too. I’ve been watching the older Goosebumps with my son since we bought him a few of the books. It’s been a blast!

I don’t, but my memory has never been all that good. Yes, I’d be so happy to see Are You Afraid of the Dark? on Netflix. Yay, glad to see he’s enjoyed them.

I AM SO EXCITED FOR SABRINA! I haven’t read the comic, but I was a HUGE fan of Sabrina the Teenage Witch growing up (and the animated series as well) and I can see this doing SO WELL as a creepier version!

If you get a chance, you should check out the graphic novel. The story is much more sinister and I can’t wait to see how it translate to a show.

I’m looking forward to Sabrina, but more than anything, I am SO EXCITED for The Haunting of Hill House. I love the book and I like that it’s gonna be a modern take on it, plus one of my favorite indie horror authors (CK Walker, of r/NoSleep “fame” haha) helped write the storyline!

The Haunting of Hill House looks so good. I still have that 1999 adaptation in my head which wasn’t very good. Can’t wait!

I cannot imagine watching a horror series, but Haunting of Hill House has been in my TBR for ages and I’m super excited to read it before watching the series, which looks amazing from the trailer.

I’m looking forward to both of the Netflix series and as someone who recently binged Slasher a few months back, I can say it’s perfect for the Halloween season. I liked Season 1 better but both were decent. Hulu also has a series called Light as a Feather that starts on the 12th so I’m excited for it as well.

I still need to read the Sabrina graphic novel, but I am SO excited for that show. I like that it’s coming back as a more darker story. I was a huge fan of Are You Afraid of the Dark as a kid too. I want to say Youtube has some episodes?

I really liked the darker graphic. I think YouTube may have Are You Afraid of the Dark? episodes too. Will have to see if I can hunt some down.

I didn’t know The Haunting of Hill House was now a TV show. It’s been made into different movies. I’ve seen those and I enjoy the old, old version called The Haunting. That one follows the book closely.

I don’t think I saw the old old version, but I was just saying to another blogger that the 1999 version is the one I remember watching and it wasn’t very good, so hoping this one replaces it in my head.

NO, that one is terrible and doesn’t follow the book.

Oh no! That’s a bummer. I know how you feel. I’m always a little sad when people mention Hulu shows that sound really interesting.

I love Goosebumps! Perfect to watch this time of the year. I went through all the episodes on Netflix last year. I seen this new show on Netflix called “Creeped Out”. I watched the first episode and it gave me Goosebump vibes mixed with a little Black Mirror, haha. It seems geared toward kids like Goosebumps is, which is cool. I definitely plan to watch all the other episodes at some point this month. I really want to check out the Sabrina show too!
