Top Ten Tuesday: Red, White, and Blue Books

Top Ten Tuesday is an original blog meme created by The Broke and the Bookish. and is currently being hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week’s topic is “Books with Red, White, & Blue Covers.” In all honesty, I think the 4th of July used to be a bigger deal for me when I was a kid. What kid didn’t love fireworks? Now, I usually stay home to avoid all the traffic and less-responsible drivers. I know, I live a very exciting life. Here’s a compilation of red, white, and blue covers for you to enjoy. I recommend them all by the way. Covers are linked to Goodreads.

Are you a fan of any of these books? Have any exciting 4th of July plans if you celebrate? Be sure to leave me a link to your own TTT post in the comments, so I can visit.

  1. I stay home too, Alicia. One of those “adulting” things I think. 😉

I’ve been curious about “The Book of Ivy,” but haven’t read it.

Happy Independence Day! Enjoy the day. 🙂

    • Haha, I think so too. Doesn’t hurt that there are fireworks literally right down the street from me, so all I got to do is go outside to see them. The Book of Ivy won’t blow you away with it’s worldbuilding or anything, but I found the duology enjoyable. Happy 4th to you!

  2. I honestly haven’t read any of these books OMG, shame on me!! I’ve heard great things tho about Song of the Current and mixed review about The Cruel Prince. What do you think should I read first?

    • I gave both Song of the Current and The Cruel Prince four stars. Personally I would say The Cruel Prince. Fae aren’t really my thing, but at the time I had just finished An Enchantment of Ravens by Margaret Rogerson and really enjoyed it, so decided to give this one a chance. I personally feel like the hype for this one is real. I loved how complex the protagonist is.

      • EoR was hype but then the hype quickly disappear so I assume the book wasn’t that great. I think I’ll try that, thank you love 💕

  3. A lot of these are on my TBR; I own a copy of The Book Thief which I was reading a long time ago but never finished because real life called. It’s sitting right in front of me begging for a reread, haha

  4. I’m kinda the same way about the 4th- I like fireworks but I think last year we had a 1 hour plus traffic jam coming home, and that dampened the enthusiasm a bit lol. Nice cover picks! Song of the Current is amazing, and I love This Is Not A Test and The Cruel Prince.

  5. I love that cover for the Book Thief! Definitely some good ones here. I used to hate fireworks – they really freaked me out. Now, I’m hit or miss really. I don’t mind them but I don’t HAVE to see them. haha I’m probably going to be in the pool or indoors tomorrow – it’s meant to be REALLY hot.

  6. The Fairyland covers are gorgeous! I have all but one of them in hardcover. I’ve been waiting for two years for it to show up on Book Outlet and I am beginning to think I am going to have to buy it full price because I am tired of waiting. Ha ha. 📚

  7. I really love how you made the collage look like the US flag! I usually don’t make a big deal about the fourth of July either, if it wasn’t for my kids, I would probably stay home.

    I hope you have a wonderful 4th!
