Top Ten Tuesday: I Have a Mighty Need for These Books, Santa!

Top Ten TuesdayTop Ten Tuesday is an original blog meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. This week’s topic is “Top Ten Books I Hope Santa Brings.” Yes, please, I can’t wait to share my list this week. Is there ever a time where a bookworm doesn’t want books? I confess that I’ve already made a list of 2018 releases that I need to get my hands on, but before we get there, here are a few books that I still need to get this year. Hoping to find these titles under the Christmas tree this year. Covers are linked to Goodreads.

1. Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone (Ravenclaw Edition) – I bought my nephew the Hufflepuff edition and after beholding its beauty, I must get my hands on the Ravenclaw edition.

2. Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda – I loved this book and yet I don’t own it. It’s a travesty. I was going to buy it from Amazon, but I believe they are out of stock at the moment. May have to hunt it down in stores.

3. Love, Life, and the List by Kasie West – A new Kasie West book comes out the day after Christmas, so I would in no way argue with Santa preordering it for me (I am Santa, I preordered it for myself).

4. An Unkindness of Magicians by Kat Howard – I’m in love with this book’s cover and I want it bad.

5. The Hollow Girl by Hillary Monahan – I read an eARC of this one and was so impressed. Easily one of the most powerful books I’ve picked up this year. I would really like a final copy of it.

6. The Bear and the Nightingale by Katherine Arden – I haven’t read this one yet, but I’ve been dreaming about this edition for ages. Give it to me.

7. Starfish by Akemi Dawn Bowman – I have heard so many wonderful (and painful) things about this novel and can’t wait to read it.

8. Milk and Honey by Rupi Kaur – I read this one while I was on hiatus and while I’m not a big poetry reader, this one got to me. I’d love to own a copy, so I can reread it.

9. Monstress, Vol. 2: The Blood by Marjorie M. Lui and Sana Takeda – Just finished the first volume of this graphic novel and am still reeling from its beauty. I need volume two now.

10. History Is All You Left Me by Adam Silvera – I really want to read this book by the end of the year and it would be oh so amazing to find this one under the tree.

Would you like to receive any of these for the holidays? What is one book you would love to be gifted? Which book would you love to gift to everyone? Let me know in the comments and be sure leave a link to your own TTT post, so I can visit.

  1. Starfish and Monstress both look great (I need some graphic novels on my list lol), and Kasie West’s books always look fun too. Hope you get some good ones for Christmas!

  2. I need to get my hands on Starfish too! I thought about trying to read it when it was free online for one day, but with my daughter home, I am not reading as much. Didn’t want to start and not finish it. I adored the new KWest book. I hope you read it and love it too.

    1. I had to add that little tidbit as I wrote most of this post before I preordered it for myself. I actually had to replace a couple of more books on this list before posting because I bought them. Santa came early. You’re right. Angie’s missing because I already own her book.

  4. “I am Santa, I preordered it for myself.” Ha! I love that. One of the best things about being an adult is being able to buy books for myself. Kasie West’s books are so cute. I haven’t pre-ordered the new one, but I will definitely read it eventually.
