Earlier this year, spring to be exact, Alicia and I had this crazy idea: What if we started a challenge as a way to connect bloggers, and challenge ourselves to spread the comment love? Hmmm. What if? And thus, the Summer 2016 Comment Challenge was born. Whether you’re a new blogger or a seasoned vet, blog comments are one of the most rewarding aspects of blogging. If you’d like to do your own wrap-up post for the Comment Challenge, please feel free to leave a link in the comments and we’ll be sure to visit.
Alicia’s Final Thoughts:
When Lonna @ FLYLēF first approached me about this collaborative blogging project, I was beyond ecstatic. At the beginning of this year, I had been contemplating ways to interact more with other bloggers. The Comment Challenge, which revolved around the idea that we could pair bloggers together and they would focus on interacting with one another for one month, was the perfect way for me to do this. Not only did I get to know my cohost (Lonna, by the way, is really awesome), but I got to interact with bloggers who I knew a little about and many I didn’t know at all. I loved seeing bloggers connect with each other and I hope that you’ll continue these new friendships beyond this challenge.
Lonna’s Final Thoughts:
I had the pleasure of meeting many new blogging friends in this challenge: Peyton, Christina, Arnis, Lizzie, Rosemarie, and Kathryn (my partners). Each blogger was so uniquely different that my reading repertoire expanded beyond my preferred genre—fantasy. Now my TBR is more monstrous than ever, but it’s also phenomenally diverse! Though it didn’t always go without a hitch, I’m thankful for my amazing co-host, Alicia, for her inspiration and thoughtfulness. I hope everyone has enjoyed the challenge as much as I have. While the challenge is now official over, I still visit many bloggers even beyond the scope of this challenge. I hope you do, too!
What’s Next:
We had so much fun this summer hosting the Comment Challenge and we wanted to hear from you to see how you felt about participating in the same challenge over the winter months. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive and so coming this January through March, we will be hosting the Winter 2017 Comment Challenge. There may be a few changes to help us make the experience better for everyone, but expect a lot of the same format. Look for more info coming in December.
Giveaway:
The winners of the Summer 2016 Comment Challenge are Arvenig @ Arvenig.it and Victoria @ Addlepates and Book Nerds. They’ve requested The Princess Saves Herself in This One by Amanda Lovelace and Empire of Storms by Sarah J. Maas, respectively. Thank you everyone for entering our giveaway!
Summer 2016 Comment Challenge Blogroll:
We had a total of 65 amazing bloggers take part in this challenge. I encourage anyone who’s looking for a bit of comment love to connect with these awesome bloggers! If you’ve participated and do not see your name in the blogroll—our sincerest apologies! Please let us know and we will gladly amend it.
Congrats on hosting such a successful er, thing. Haha 🙂 it’s sad that I didn’t get to participate, but I’d definitely love to join for Winter 2017! 🙂
