The Friday 56 is a weekly blog meme hosted by Freda’s Voice. Join us every Friday and share an excerpt from a book you’re been reading.
Rules:
*Grab a book, any book.
*Turn to page 56 or 56% in your eReader.
*Find any sentence (or a few, just don’t spoil it) that grab you.
*Post it.
*Add your (url) post here in Linky. Add the post url, not your blog url. It’s that simple.
**Be sure to leave a link to your Friday 56 post in the comments!**
“There’s no need to ever get up at dawn,” Angela told her. “Not even to shoot joggers. We’re going to leave my brother behind, Kami; he is one of life’s born saunterers.”
“He knows his way home,” Kami said callously. “Failing that, he’s a personable lad–some kind lady is bound to take him in and treat him well.”
UntoldΒ is the sequel to Sarah Rees Brennan’s Unspoken. It’s a wonderful sophomore novel that I recently reread. I just finished the final book in this series after going through almost an entire box of tissue, I am not kidding.Β This excerpt features a rather facetious conversation between the protagonist Kami and her best friend Angela. Cover is linked to Goodreads.
My review for the first book can be found here and my review for this one is here.
I was intrigued until you mentioned going through a box of tissues. I try to avoid books that will make me cry. Happy Friday!

Oh, that’s too bad, this series definitely pulls at the heartstrings though.

Haha, Angela has a…distaste for anything that doesn’t involve sleeping.

That cracked me up. Sounds like you need some lighter moments in this series if you used so many tissues. I’ll check the series out:)

Yay, glad to hear it! Yes, the humor was both necessary and probably my favorite facet of the series.

Funny opening, until they left him behind. I wonder what will happen to him.

Oh, he’ll be fine. His charming enough to find someone to take him home.

I absolutely love this series! It’s the one series that convinced me that maybe YA isn’t always boring or predictable. Kami is also one of my favourite main characters ever! Thanks for sharing π I hope you have a great weekend!

I think at some point, if you have a brother, you think about leaving him behind.
