Rules:
*Grab a book, any book.
*Turn to page 56 or 56% in your eReader.
*Find any sentence (or a few, just don’t spoil it) that grab you.
*Post it.

“Their eyes were little more than slits, and their mouths once a delicate shade of blue, were now black, stretched into gruesome O’s.”
Slasher Girls & Monster Boys was the first book I picked up for my Halloween-themed October and it was fantastic. I’m not a huge anthology fan, but this collection of horror stories was frightfully fascinating.
From my review:
“Ghosts, murderers, and death bring plenty of frights in this horror anthology. Inspired by various mediums from films to classic horror novels to music, these fourteen short stories are filled with thrills, twists, and trepidation. And just when you think you have a story figured out, the surprises are fierce yet strangely satisfying.” See my full review here.
Just that little quote scared me, which is perfect for the book 🙂 If I was a horror reader, I’d definitely read it. Instead, I’m going to avoid it at all costs…

Haha, seeing as you’re not a big horror fan, that might be best.

I just saw this book today on the Junior Library Guild poster and I thought I’d better order it. Now you recommend it so I will add it to my next order. Thanks.

I think I’ll be skipping this one. I’m not a fan of anthologies or scary stories. I hope you are enjoying it. This week I am spotlighting a new book – Losers Take All by David Klass. Happy reading!

I’ve read books by a few of the authors so this anthology is something that I might be interested in reading…eventually.

Yes, if you’re familiar, you’ll enjoy it and it will give you a chance to read some great authors you aren’t familiar with.

I scream. You scream. I know it doesn’t make sense. The word “slasher” makes my skin crawl. Silly me.(:
