Top Ten Tuesday: Ten Characters Who are Bookworms and Writers

Top Ten TuesdayTop Ten Tuesday is an original blog meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. This week’s topic is “Ten Characters Who Are Fellow Book Nerds (love reading, are writers, work at a bookstore, etc.).” This topic turned out to be pretty hard to put together. I don’t think it’s a lack of characters who fit the description, but more like my awful memory refusing to give up its secrets.

Ten Characters Who are Bookworms and Writers:

1. Hermione Granger from Harry Potter – the most obvious choice for fictional bookworms.

2. Meggie and Mo from Inkheart – we can only dream about reading like these two.

3. Anne from Anne of Green Gables – reader and (possibly flamboyant) writer.

4. Jo March from Little Women – I felt the pain of her manuscript burning deep in my soul.

5. Liesel Meminger from The Book Thief – I wholeheartedly approve of such thievery.

6. Kami Glass from Unspoken – investigative journalist with a cheeky attitude.

7. Celaena Sardothien from Throne of Glass – when she isn’t busy kicking butt, she’s reading, perhaps with a slice of chocolate cake to keep her company.

8. The protagonist from The Ocean at the End of the Lane – strangely enough, he is never given a name, but he shares this relatable quote, “I lived in books more than I lived anywhere else.”

9. Catherine Morland from Northanger Abbey – one of Austen’s heroines who enjoys reading just as much as we do.

10. Elisa Cantor from Undercover – a modern day Cyrano de Bergerac who finds a rather unique way to practice her writing.

Do we have any fiction bookworms or writers in common? Did I mention anyone you may have left out? Let me know in the comments and be sure to leave a link to your own TTT post!
