Exploring My Bookshelves, #1: Prettiest Book

Exploring My Bookshelves is an original meme hosted by Addlepates and Book Nerds. You can find out more here. I thought I’d join this week, and I’m actually on my phone trying to do this post so excuse any strange formatting.

This week’s prompt is “what’s the prettiest book on your shelf?”

There are simply too many to choose from, but since I’m limited to the photos on my phone, I’m going with these two:

I love this series so much and just finished the second book last night. You can read my reviews here: The Winner’s Curse and The Winner’s Crime.

Here’s The Winner’s Curse’s blurb from Goodreads:

“As a general’s daughter in a vast empire that revels in war and enslaves those it conquers, seventeen-year-old Kestrel has two choices: she can join the military or get married. But Kestrel has other intentions.

One day, she is startled to find a kindred spirit in a young slave up for auction. Arin’s eyes seem to defy everything and everyone. Following her instinct, Kestrel buys him—with unexpected consequences. It’s not long before she has to hide her growing love for Arin.

But he, too, has a secret, and Kestrel quickly learns that the price she paid for a fellow human is much higher than she ever could have imagined.”
