The Friday 56, #47: To Kill a Mockingbird

The Friday 56The Friday 56 is a weekly blog meme hosted by Freda’s Voice. Join in every Friday, the rules are simple.

Rules:
*Grab a book, any book.
*Turn to page 56 or 56% in your eReader.
*Find any sentence (or a few, just don’t spoil it) that grab you.
*Post it.
*Add your (url) post here in Linky. Add the post url, not your blog url. It’s that simple.

“Scout, try not to antagonize Aunty, hear?”

Atticus’s remarks were still ranking, which made me miss the request in Jem’s question. My feathers rose again. “You tryin’ to tell me what to do?”

I recently reread Harper Lee’s To Kill a Mockingbird as part of the Re-Read Challenge I am participating in this year. I encourage anyone who hasn’t read this classic to pick it up. It is truly a masterpiece. Excerpt taken from page 156.

  1. This book is one of my housemate’s favourites and she gets very mad whenever she remembers I haven’t read it! I do really want to get on it, but I feel like it’s the kind of book I should take my time for! Thanks for reminding me to read it and sharing πŸ™‚ I hope you enjoy your weekend!

  2. I also love the book. Would like to reread it one day. Loved the movie too especially the court room scene. Who can forget Boo Radley? Hope I spelled his name correctly. It’s a good book to discuss about how each race sees the other race. That’s what I think.
