FF_2013Button-300x300Feature and Follow is a weekly blog hop hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read where bloggers are given an opportunity to discover new blogs and gain new followers. The rules:

1. (Required) Follow the Hosts {Parajunkee & Alison Can Read}
2. (Required) Follow our Featured Bloggers
3. Put your Blog name & URL in the Linky thing.
4. Grab the button and place it in a post, this post is for people to find a place to say “hi” in your comments and that they are now following you.
5. State in your posts how you would like to be followed
6. Follow Follow Follow as many as you can, as many as you want, or just follow a few. The whole point is to make new friends and find new blogs. Also, don’t just follow, comment and say hi. Another blogger might not know you are a new follower if you don’t say “HI”
7. If someone comments and says they are following you, be a dear and follow back. Spread the Love…and the followers
8. If you’re new to the Follow Friday hop, comment and let me know, so I can stop by and check out your blog!

This Week’s Question:

What is the biggest city you live near (or interesting landmark)? Show us a postcard picture.

I live in California. Whenever I tell anyone this, they immediately ask if I live in Los Angeles. No, I do not. I do live about an hour and a half away from L.A., right between it and San Diego. Yes, it is sunny. This would be great if we actually had a winter and got a break from the heat. Right now it’s 102ºF (that’s 38ºC for those not in the U.S.) as I type this.

But I actually love where I live because it’s far enough away from the big cities and close enough that if I need to go there, I can. I can drive to the beach, the desert, and the mountains. Yes, we have earthquakes and sometimes I don’t even notice. Fire season is the worse because we can have a dozen wildfires going at once and the air quality is awful. No, I don’t go to the beach all the time and yes, I do say “dude”.

Here is a viewpoint of the actual city I live in:

  1. Oh my goodness, that’s really hot, Alicia! As you know, I live in Switzerland now, but I’m originally from Norway, and I’m used to really cold winter, and nice lukewarm summers 😀 I don’t think I’d survive that heat, actually.
It sounds really nice to live in the middle of everything like you do though, I love the beach, and that’s the one thing I can’t get here – no sea, and the lake just isn’t the same.
Thanks for stopping by earlier. Have a fantastic Friday.

  2. I’ve always wanted to visit CA! My brother recently moved to AZ, so I’m hoping to visit him one day and take an extended vaca to CA (:

  3. I wonder if you live near my family – I pretty much grew up in the Orange County area (so despite my recent encounter with the northern weather, I’m all about the California weather haha. I’m never around for the fire weather luckily!)
Following back via Google + and WordPress (the upsides to my failed attempt to try and move my blog from blogger to wordpress lol)

I'd love to hear from you. Share your thoughts here!
